Meals on Wheels Scam Alert 08/29/2006 Tri-County Office on Aging (Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties) reports that recently a Meals-on-Wheels client was contacted by a caller stating the client owed $20 and would lose Meals-on-Wheels service if they did not pay. The caller then asked for the client's credit card number. Fortunately, the client did not provide the information and reported the scam to Tri-County which they notified the police. Tri-County also notified their field representative at OSA who then sent a notice to all Area Agencies on Aging encouraging them to inform clients about this scam and remind clients that the agency would never ask for banking or credit card information over the phone.
